We have lots and lots of you pick/we pick blackberries and raspberries.
Now have three (3) varieties of blackberries ripe - Apache, Navaho and Quachita. The Quachitas are loaded. At times you need a ladder to reach all the ripe berries. Have never seen such vine growth!
The variety many of you love to eat as "finger food", Triple Crown, are just starting to ripen. Picked our first quart yesterday.
Raspberries have been great this season. Have lost some crop the past week to sunburn with the high 90 temperatures. Probably be the last picking of traditional Red Raspberries this weekend.
Black Raspberry picking is over for the season.
Picking of Royalty Purple Raspberries is good and will be for at least one more week. We are losing some crop due to rot as result of all the rain (15+ inches in last 15 days). Royalty is a cross between red and black raspberries. Great for preserves and desserts.
If you are one who loves Dorman Red Raspberries, you need to come and pick tomorrow. Our crop is large and at the peak of ripeness. Just waiting for you!
With the large berry crop this season have been able to make Raspberry Preserves. The quality is excellent. You need to get yours before they're all gone!
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow, Saturday, June 19!
