Our retail farm market will be CLOSED today, Friday, August 27th, until Wednesday morning, September 1st.
The reason: We are in between ripening of two peach varieties and have no ripe peaches to pick.
Also, as you may have heard, our apple crop has been severely damaged by acts of Mother Nature such that we have no early apples to harvest. Our late ripening varieties have also been greatly reduced.
Probably will not be making any cider or apple sauce until late September/October.
We are now starting to pick the latest and best plum variety - Elephant Heart. Should start to pick Stanley prunes by end of next week.
Have our largest Asian pear apple and muscadine crops ever. Will start picking them both heavily when we reopen next Wednesday. By following week should be able to allow you to pick your own muscadine grapes.
Still have good supply of our fancy fresh fruit preserves. For you fig preserve lovers, with the abundant crop of figs this year we've made lots of preserves and are still making.
Look forward to seeing you Wednesday!
