Finally, Red Haven peaches are ripe! Seems like it has taken too long to get here, but actually they are ripening right on schedule. Possibly a week early. We will start picking Red Havens big time on Thursday. The fruit size is large.
We've done a pretty good job of dodging the bad hail storms. Our early ripening varieties did suffer some damage. But, overall the fruit quality is good and the crop size large.
We are now picking Methley and Ozark Premier plums. Size and quality are good.
Blackberry picking will be very good this week. Both the Quachitas and Triple Crowns.
Had a great crop and will finish picking Dorman Red raspberries.
The Blueberry crop is excellent and the quality great.
Will start making our fancy fresh fruit preserves this week: Black Raspberry, Apricot, Blackberry, Dorman Red Raspberry, and Plum. Many of you have asked for Royalty Raspberry preserves. Sorry to have to tell you that we had a very small Royalty crop and there was no extra fruit available to make preserves.
Starting next week (July 6) our retail market will be open 5 days a week---Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This week we are open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
We all look forward to seeing you real soon!!
