Apples, Peaches, Pears, Plums and more!

Nectarines overlooking the farm

Even with all the heavy rains at the farm and the high temperatures, our fruit crop in total still looks very good!

Various fruit types and varieties are coming up in size and ripening rather fast.

With all the rain, we are having a nightmare battle with the Bahia grass that the SC Hwy Department has planted along Hwy 11. Especially in the berry rows. Any suggestion as to how to control? If you have ideas, please send them to me at perdueapple@charter.net.

We are now about halfway through the peach/nectarine season. This week we will be picking:

Biscoe (yellow), Georgia Belle, Blushing Star (white sub-acid), and by the weekend possibly Cresthaven peaches. (All of our peaches are freestone)

Flavortop and Fantasia nectarines.

Starking Delicious plums.

Ripening Bartlett PearGinger Gold, Mc Intosh and Honeycrisp apples.

Asian pear apples.

Bartlett type pears.

Still have Blueberries. Blackberry season is about over.

Starting to pick a few fall bearing Red Raspberries. Should have a pretty good crop this fall.

Many of you keep asking about Figs. The bushes are loaded with small green figs. They just won't take off and ripen up. Maybe within a couple weeks.

Our Muscadine grape vines are loaded with grapes. Even the three new earlier ripening varieties. Best guess is that will start picking about September 1 and then pick until frost.

Please come see us real soon. We have lots of great freshly picked "tree and vine"-ripe fruits just for you!
